Reflections On The Coke 340.5

Another what was going to be a great race is in the can.

I suppose if you were in attendance you might not see it that way. One of my favorite races was the inaugural Busch race at Gateway. Of course, I was a spectator from my easy chair at home.

The best car doesn’t always win  and sometimes it doesn’t seem right that someone lucks into a victory, but it’s almost always about putting yourself  in a  position to win. I guess it’s fitting for the “old dream machine” to pull one off and almost as fitting for the Army car to exceed expectations on this day.

As is the norm, the actual racing at the jewel of the southeast (if not the country)  is exceptional.
